Photography Workshops
This year i celebrate my 15th anniversary in the field of photography.
The photographic studio and printing lab have reached the milestone of 50 years since my family decided to start this adventure.
These are important goals that make you reflect on your work and on your own person.
In all these years people asked me several times “When do you do photography workshops?”.
In fact, it happened to participate in meetings where I talked about my projects, my travels, my experiences.
But proposing a photography workshop is different.
It means putting something extra and getting into the role of teacher.
But how can you be a master of an art? Where art stands for that thing to express with your own voice, vision and “rules”.
This is the doubt i had in the past few years in the uncertainty of offering workshops.
The fact is that teaching arts have a limit.
The one in which the photographer becomes master of the medium and begins to live with the same art that he wants to express. And he can express it with reason and instinct. Conscience and unconsciousness. With that contrast that is part of being human and of photography itself. And it does so in a journey that is subjective, made of one’s own experiences, of one’s own thoughts and of what is his being.
And this can lead to results, immediately, after or never.
I decided to accept this challenge.To start teaching.
To do it my way with the sureness that my language, my proposal, my experience can, in some way, give to those who follow me that something they are looking for in photography and direct them towards the most suitable path to express themselves with images.
The choice of the photographic journey is the most difficult but it is also the one closest to me. And since I decided to propose a workshop I think this is the best way for me and, consequently, for future students.
Fuerteventura is not the classic photographic travel destination.
There are no particularly famous spots to replicate a particular image.
And this for me is highly favorable to photographic learning, because the aim is also to stimulate your creativity trying to have less possible passive conditioning.
An approach that will make you understand how important the image is thanks to your interpretation and the way you communicate it with photography, living the place, the situations and all the other inputs all around.
An adventure to live together. Where I don’t want to be a figure detached from the rest of the group but an integral part of it. For a direct communication and where daily experiences are more easily translated in favor of photographic learning.
Can’t wait to begin this new adventure.
Subscription is available (only of residents in Italy for now) and there are a lot of months left before departure, but the interest is really high and i’m really happy for it.

Workshop di fotografia.
Quest’anno sono 15 anni che lavoro nel campo della fotografia.
Lo studio fotografico e laboratorio di stampa annesso hanno raggiunto il traguardo di 50 anni da quando i miei familiari hanno deciso di avviarlo.
Traguardi importanti che fanno riflettere sul proprio lavoro e sulla propria persona.
In tutti questi anni sono state innumerevoli le volte in cui mi è stata posta la domanda “Quando fai dei workshop di fotografia?”.
In realtà mi è capitato più volte di partecipare ad incontri dove parlavo dei miei progetti, dei miei viaggi, delle mie esperienze.
Ma proporre un corso di fotografia è diverso.
Significa metterci qualcosa in più e calarsi nel ruolo di maestro.
Ma come si fa ad essere maestro di un’arte? Dove arte sta per quella cosa da esprimere con la propria voce, la propria visione, la propria “regola”. Questo è il dubbio che mi sono posto negli scorsi anni nell’insicurezza di proporre dei corsi.
La realtà è che l’insegnamento nell’arte arriva fino ad un certo punto.
Quello in cui il fotografo diventa padrone del mezzo e comincia a vivere della stessa arte che vuole esprimere. E la può esprime con ragione e istinto. Coscienza ed incoscienza. Con quel contrasto che fa parte dell’essere umano e della fotografia stessa. E lo fa in un percorso che è soggettivo, fatto delle esperienze proprie, dei propri pensieri e di quello che è il suo essere.
Questo lo può portare a dei risultati, subito, dopo o mai.
Ho deciso di accettare questa sfida. Di cominciare ad insegnare.
Di farlo a modo mio con la sicurezza che il mio linguaggio, la mia proposta, la mia esperienza possa, in qualche modo, dare a chi mi seguirà quel qualcosa che cerca nella fotografia, ed indirizzarlo verso il percorso più adatto per esprimersi con le immagini.
La scelta del viaggio fotografico è quella più difficile ma è anche quella a me più vicina. E dal momento che ho deciso di proporre un workshop credo che questa sia la direzione migliore per me e, di riflesso, per i futuri corsisti.
Fuerteventura non è il classico luogo da viaggio fotografico.
Non ci sono spot particolarmente famosi dove replicare una determinata immagine.
E questo per me è altamente favorevole all’apprendimento fotografico, perchè lo scopo è anche stimolare la vostra creatività cercando di avere meno condizionamenti passivi possibili.
Un approccio che vi farà capire come non è importante l’immagine fine a se stessa ma lo è la vostra interpretazione e il modo di comunicarla con le fotografie, vivendo il luogo, le situazioni e tutti gli altri stimoli da saper cogliere.
Un’avventura da vivere insieme. Dove non voglio essere una figura staccata dal resto del gruppo ma parte integrante dello stesso. Per una comunicazione diretta e dove le esperienze vissute quotidianamente si traducono con più facilità a favore dell’apprendimento fotografico.
Una nuova avventura che non vedo l’ora di cominciare.
Le iscrizioni sono aperte e mancano molti mesi alla partenza, ma l’interesse è molto alto e ne sono davvero felice.
